Astronautalis-This Is Our Science

I came home today to find the new Astronautalis album in the mail. I had heard the album about a week ago through a free preview thanks to Absolute Punk, and was impressed with what I heard. I’ve been a fan of Andy (his given name) for quite a while. I first saw him perform at Taste Of MN with P.O.S, and have been hooked ever since. His most recent album is titled This Is Our Science, and is a biographical album according to the artist himself. I had heard a few of the songs in concert and loved them, they had a ton of energy behind them, as do most of his songs, but these ones seems to have more passion than the others. In particular, tracks like “Holy Water” and “Dimitri Mendeleev” find Astronautalis completely losing himself in the song, as if nothing else in the world matters but these next few minutes. That kind of honesty is hard to find in music these days, and it just makes you appreciate it that much more when you can find it. So, feel free to preview the album here, and if you like what you hear, be sure to pick up the album here, your local record store, or at the iTunes store.
