Music For Humans Awards 2018

Posted February 13, 2018 By admin

Well, it’s been more than a day or two since I last posted, but better late than never, right? I’ve done this type of post in the past, but it’s been a few years since I last did it. Basically, I take some of the categories from the Grammy’s, create some of my own, and pick an “award” winner. Some are probably obvious (a lot come from my top albums of the year and songs of the year posts), but others are more unique and may expose people to something they might not have heard of before.

Top Albums of 2017

Posted January 1, 2018 By admin

Another year has come and gone, and the time has come to look back and put together a list of my favorite albums released in 2017. While there wasn’t really an album that blew me away like last year (You Want It Darker in particular), there were definitely a lot of good, solid albums that made choosing one over another harder this year. I listened to a total of 244 albums that were released in 2017, and narrowed it down to my top 15 in order. I also included a few in no particular order that didn’t make the cut but still deserve to be mentioned. I will also be posting my favorite songs from the past year in the next couple days, including my first effort at making a Spotify playlist to include (stepping into the 21st Century finally).

Honorable mentions:

15. Benjamin Booker – Witness

14. Ane Brun – Leave Me Breathless

Best songs of 2013

Posted January 1, 2014 By admin

Well, it’s a couple days later than I planned, but here are the best songs of 2013. The reason I am late posting this is that in the past I try to pick whatever songs can fit on 2 CD’s. It was time consuming narrowing them down that way, and at some point I figured why limit myself. I’m probably the last person who still uses CD’s anyways, so I just figured I will pick whatever songs I want, and not worry about limits like that. So, here are my favorite songs of 2013:

  • Just To Make Me Feel Good – Adam Green & Binki Shapiro
  • About Farewell – Alela Diane
  • Nothing On Me – Alexz Johnson
  • Johnson Blvd. – Amos Lee
