It’s been a while

Posted March 20, 2013 By admin

It’s easy to lose track of time when there is a lot going on in your life. I didn’t realize how long it had been since I posted here, and the main reason is I’ve been busy trying to figure out my car situation. My car’s motor blew out about 3 weeks ago and most of my energy has been spent trying to find a new one or figure out whether to repair the old one. That situation seems to be coming to an end soon, so hopefully posting will resume a little more regularly soon. In the meantime, here are some songs about cars and driving.

Big Yellow Taxi- Bob Dylan

Drive All Night- Joss Stone

Drive All Over Town- Elliott Smith

Drive My Car- The Beatles

Moonlight Drive (Demo)- The Doors

Abbey Road web cam

Posted May 23, 2011 By admin

I heard about this site on a local radio station I listen to and have been hooked since. Every one by now is familiar with The Beatles iconic Abbey Road album cover, but just in case you aren’t:

Anyways, basically the site has a webcam set up to view the famous road and it is viewable 24 hours a day. I’ve watched it for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour per day and there aren’t 10 minutes at a time that a group of people (tourists presumably) stop and re-enact the album cover. It’s also crazy to watch people cross the street and just assume drivers are going to stop for them at the crosswalk without even looking. It’s a pretty good time waster if you’re ever bored on the internet. The link is below:

On this day in 1969, filming began at Twickenham Studios in England of The Beatles rehearsing for the ‘Let It Be‘ album. The project ran into several problems including George Harrison walking out on the group on January 10th.
