Top albums of 2012

Posted January 3, 2013 By admin

Well, another year has come and gone, and it’s time to post my favorite albums of the past year. 2012 seemed to lack a lot of depth in terms of quality albums. There are a few great ones at the top of the list, but once you get past the first 6 or 7, the quality starts to fade fast. That’s not to say they are bad albums, but there just weren’t many that wowed me this year. I will say this though, there were definitely a lot of great songs released this year, so keep a look out for that list coming in the next couple days. Here’s the list of my top albums from 2012.

Honorable mentions:
Sixpence None The Richer- Lost In Translation
Fiona Apple- The Idler Wheel…
Justin Bieber- Believe
R. Kelly- Write Me Back
DMX- Undisputed

Picks Of The Week

Posted July 29, 2012 By admin
As you might have noticed if you’ve tried to download any live shows here in the past few days, Demonoid is down. No one really knows how long it will be down, but in the meantime I’m still trying to figure out the best way to link to those shows. Bayfiles is great in that it hosts files up to 5GB, but if they aren’t downloaded for 30 days they are deleted, which is a bummer, but it might be the only option at this point. Hopefully I’ll find something that works soon, and I will update at some point in the near future. Here are this weeks picks of the week.
  • Say Yes- Ben Folds
  • San Francisco (Acoustic)- Brett Dennen
  • One Lovely Day- Citizen Cope
  • Girl From The North Country- Counting Crows
  • Pusherman- Curtis Mayfield
  • So Sleepy- Fiona Apple
  • Martyrs & Thieves- Jennifer Knapp
  • Forever Young- Joan Baez
  • Man In The Long Black Coat- Joan Osborne
  • The Book Of Right On- Joanna Newsom

  • After The Rain- John Coltrane
  • Leaving On A Jet Plane (Demo)- John Denver
  • I’m In The Mood- John Lee Hooker
  • Let It Snow- John Legend
  • Bless You- John Lennon
  • Monday Night- Ryan Adams
  • Throw Me In The River- The Pines
  • I Am Blessed- Wouter Hamel & Nina Simone
